Arsenal’s season is now down to the Europa League, according to Bookmakers.

The Gunners defeat to arch-rivals Tottenham saw them drop seven points behind their North London neighbours, and both the public and Bookmakers are going against them.

After defeat to Spurs, Arsenal are now a massive 10/1 to qualify for the top-four, which shows just how their season is going.

“Despite investing heavily in January, with a new deal for Mesut Ozil and signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Arsenal will not be returning to the top-four, their odds have been doubled in the last week,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.

“The top-four, according to the Bookmakers is all but done for the first three – Man City you can’t even back anymore, Man United are 1/20 which is 95% probability whilst Liverpool are 1/7 – it is then close between Spurs and Chelsea, both only just odds on.

“Traditionally we consider it a top-six, but the more we go on – it looks like a top-five with Arsenal out of the reckoning by February.

“Arsenal’s only hope of returning to the Champions League is following the same route as Manchester United last season as they won the Europa League. Arsenal have made it to the latter stages and are second favourites behind Atletico Madrid at 5/1 – half the price they are to make the top-four.”

Selected Arsenal odds:
To make Premier League top-four – 10/1
To win Europa League – 5/1
