Pochettino quit rumours won’t go away

August 30th, 2019 Home, Media & Journalism, News & Events, Press Release, Sport

Rumours are abound that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino could be set to quit the club.

Spurs have progressed under Pochettino during his five seasons in charge, including moving into their brilliant new White Hart Lane home. He has been able to guide them into top-three finishes in the last three seasons and also to the Champions League final last term.

He was strongly linked with the Manchester United job last season, whilst constant links to Europe’s top clubs do not go away.

However, talk in recent days claim that Pochettino could walk away after this weekend following comments from the Argentine that he was always thinking about his future.

Bookmakers have now cut him to just 7/1 to leave in September, and he is odds-on not to be in charge next season.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “The rumours are getting stronger and stronger, and has now forced the Bookmakers to price this up and we know some were even forced to suspend betting at one point.

“Now he is just 7/1 to go in September, but it is hard to see where this is coming from as Spurs’ start to the new season has not been too bad and they spent some good money in the summer.”

Selected odds:

Mauricio Pochettino to leave Tottenham in September – 7/1
Mauricio Pochettino to leave Tottenham before Christmas – 5/2
Mauricio Pochettino to leave Tottenham before opening day of next season – 5/6
