Premier League Sack Race is underway

July 18th, 2019 Football, Home, Media & Journalism, News & Events, Press Release

Steve Bruce has been installed as the opening favourite in the Premier League Sack Race.

Bookmakers could not launch the Sack Race – betting on next manager to leave their job in the Premier League – until all 20 managers were in place and that is now the case.

Newcastle United confirmed the appointment of Bruce, and generally he has been installed as favourite 5/2 to be the first top-flight manager to lose his job.

Second favourite is Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at around 4/1 – although he is favourite in places.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “This is a tough market, and Steve Bruce is an easy choice but Newcastle don’t pull the plug early too often so that does suggest there is value elsewhere.”
