Elizabeth Warren surge in recent polls has seen her emerged as favourite to be the Democratic presidential candidate in 2020.
The battle to take on president Donald Trump has already begun, although Democrats won’t official start voting until February which leads up to the national convention in July when their candidate will be officially announced.
There are currently 23 nominees battling for the Democractic pick, and long-time favourites have been Jo Biden and Bernie Sanders – but now Warren has been cut into favourite.
The 70-year-old Massachusetts Senator is clearly appealing to the Democrat base and that has seen some polls putting her more than 10 points clear.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “It is still very early in the Democratic race, but it seems the Democrats will be going for an older candidate with the three favourites – Warren, Biden and Sanders – all over 70.”
Selected odds on leading Democratic Presidential Candidate 2020:
Elizabeth Warren 2/1
Joe Biden 5/2
Bernie Sanders 5/1
Kamala Harris 6/1
Pete Buttigieg 12/1
Andrew Yang 20/1
