Cardiff City face Manchester City on Wednesday and are rated as long as 100/1 to win – a price never seen before in Premier League history.
Despite the fact Cardiff could do with the three points, their boss Neil Warnock has suggested he could rest players in order to make sure they are fit for other matches – they see as more winnable.
Now Bookmakers have reacted by making Cardiff as long as 100/1 – more than twice the previous record which was Huddersfield Town at City last season but was just short of 50/1.
City’s price has also fallen and is now down to 1/25.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “We really don’t see numbers like this very often in football games, but Bookmakers have certainly taken Warnock’s comments seriously.
“Such is City’s 1/25 that is a probability of over 96% probability, remarkable for a Premier League contest.”
Selected match odds:
Manchester City 1/25
Cardiff City 100/1
