Frank Lampard has been confirmed as the new Chelsea boss – but already Bookmakers are not sure he will last the distance and he is the early front-runner in the Premier League Sack Race.
Lampard rejoined Chelsea this week, after leaving Derby County, succeeding Maurizio Sarri – who joined Juventus.
Going into the new season and Lampard has been backed for success, although that has not stopped Bookmakers making him odds-on at 5/6 to leave before the end of the season.
Lampard is also at the head of the Sack Race – alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who he will meet in his first ever Premier League game as Chelsea travel to Manchester United on the opening weekend.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “The appointment of Frank Lampard is truly fascinating, but it remains to be seen if he will be a success – Bookmakers are not so sure, given he is odds-on not to last.
“He is 4/1 to claim a major trophy in the coming season, which looks a reasonable price.”
