Sick of Brexit? Well don’t expect it to end anytime soon as Bookmakers are odds-on that the process will be extended next month.
Prime Minister Theresa May has promised Members of Parliament a vote on a no-deal Brexit and also the possibility of delaying the United Kingdom’s official departure – currently set for March 29th.
Mrs May will put her withdrawal agreement – including any changes she might have agreed with the European Union in the coming weeks – to a meaningful vote in Parliament on March 12th.
And if her vote on March 12th fails – MPs will then get to vote on a no-deal plan, or a two-year extension to Article 50, which is the agreement allowing the UK to withdraw from the EU.
Bookmakers are now convinced that the Article 50 extension is what will occur and are now as short as 1/9 on that to happen.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton: “At 1/9 – the probability of Article 50 being extended is around 90% – and more money is coming for that.
“There has also been a lot of Punters going in hard on a second referendum, with that price now at 9/4. Safe to say come the end of March – Brexit talk won’t be coming to an end.”
