Formula 1 is back this weekend, and whilst it is a new season – it looks a straight battle between world champion Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
Meredes star Hamilton is looking for a third straight world title – his sixth in total, but Ferrari powered Vettel is very much in the mix for what could possibly be his fifth.
And the Bookmakers rate Vettel’s chances at 7/4 as he is only just a little longer than Hamilton at 6/5.
Aside from the top main protagonists, many wonder whether Dutch sensation Max Verstappen could push for his first world title with Red Bull – but he is as long as 10/1 – indeed the third favourite is Vettel’s Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc, who is around 5/1.
The Constructors’ championship mirrors the Drivers one, with Mercedes favourites at 11/10, just ahead of Ferrari at 11/8 – Red Bull are 15/2.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “This season in F1 looks like it could be one of the most competitive we have ever seen.
“However, that is a big turnaround from last season – 12-months ago, Mercedes and Hamilton were both odds-on, with Ferrari as long as 5/1 – but that is very different now, with hardly anything to choose between them.
“It is interesting that both Red Bull and Max Verstappen are such long-odds, if they start well then their respective odds of 15/2 and 10/1 will disappear quick than an F1 car.”
Selected F1 odds:
F1 Drivers Title
Lewis Hamilton 6/4
Sebastian Vettel 7/4
Charles Leclerc 5/1
Max Verstappen 10/1
F1 Constructors Title
Red Bull 15/2
