Veteran US senator Bernie Sanders has confirmed he intends to run for President again.
Sanders lost the 2016 Democratic primary to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – who was defeated to the White House by Donald Trump.
Now Sanders has confirmed that he is again going to run to become the Democratic Presidential nominee – who will then do battle with Trump – who is set to run for second term.
Sanders’s odds have been cut to around 6/1 from 10/1 – but he is still considered an outsider behind Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and Beto O’Rourke.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “The presidential battle for 2020 is already well underway, and it is going to take a huge effort to beat Donald Trump who is still firm favouirte at 7/4.
“Bernie Sanders has confirmed himself in the battle and is 6/1 to win the Democratic race and twice that to win the overall prize at 12/1.
“The favourite to win the Democratic race, though, remains Californian senator Kamala Harris and punters clearly believe the American left will again go with a women to challenge Trump.”
