One of the biggest weekends in football history could be about to take place with Neymar nearing a move to Paris Saint Germain for a world record fee.
Neymar’s move would also trigger other deals, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Manuel Lanzini possibly moving off the back of it.
And with lots of moves comes chances in the betting markets, and OddsMonkey has taken a look at the potential connotations.
“Let’s look at Neymar, he is back to odds-on across the shop – indeed some Bookmakers are getting spooked and have shut their markets down but they are moving all the time – best you can get is 8/11, but then again that is not bad if as expected the move goes through,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Off the back of Neymar, we then have his replacement at Barcelona and if reports are to be believed that looks to be Philippe Coutinho and the Bookies have already latched onto this, he is now odds-on to make the move with quite a few but you can still get 6/4 with BetFred for example but you have to look around.
“And we have a third string to this bow, who would replace Coutinho and this is where you might be able to find some real value, for instance if you think Manuel Lanzini of West Ham is the man then he is 5/1 to make the switch to Anfield with PaddyPower.
“The Neymar situation is a good example of how one market can impact on others and something you should consider.”
