Bookmakers go with Barca

Barcelona have been installed as new favourites for the Champions League, as Bookmakers back the Spanish champions to win.

Barca are now generally 2/1 to life Europe’s top-prize after they hammered Roma, whilst previous favourites Manchester City have been moved out to 14/1 after their shock 3-0 loss at Liverpool.

But are the Bookmakers right? Well we are not so sure….

“The Bookies have been very eager to move Barcelona up to favourites, for the first time this season,” explained OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.

“But to us that looks a bit skinny, yes they have one leg in the semi-finals – but so do defending champions Real Madrid.

“And City’s tormentors Liverpool – a massive 6/1 still, but nobody will want to face them, yes Barcelona are good but favourites? There is real value in this market.

Selected Champions League odds:
Barcelona 2/1
Real Madrid 9/4
Bayern Munich 3/1
Liverpool 11/2
Man City 16/1
Sevilla 250/1
Juventus 250/1
Roma 500/1
