Could Maura couple up with Curtis? Odds say yes

July 8th, 2019 Home, Media & Journalism, News & Events, Press Release, Showbiz, Television

The latest twist in the Love Island Villa has seen the odds on Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard getting together slashed.

From the start of this year’s show pro-dancer Curtis was favourite to win the show after coupling up from the off with air stewardess Amy Hart.

However, after having his head turned in Casa Amor by another girl – Jourdan Riane who chose Danny Williams ahead of Curtis – he has changed mind on Amy and has subsequently decided to break-up.

That has meant that Maura has had her head turned. The Irish walk-on girl has had little luck in the Villa, and she had made it clear to her latest beau Marvin that she does not see a future with him.

Now Maura and Curtis – who admitted he knew of her outside the villa when she arrived – have started to get closer and he has event taught her how to dance, something he refused to do with Amy.

The public and Bookmakers are now taking Maura and Curtis seriously, and they have been backed into 7/1 second favourites – even though they are not even a couple at this point.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “Tommy and Molly-Mae remain firmly odds-on to win at around 1/5, and it is hard to imagine anyone else winning at the moment.

“But Maura once again making waves, time as she looks to Curtis – who nobody imagined would be available up until very recently – the last few days have seen them cut from 50/1 to 7/1 second favourites to win the show.

“It now remains to be seen just how popular Tommy and Molly-Mae are, if we are over-estimating how popular they are, then don’t rule out an outsider like a Curtis and Maura causing a shock.”

Selected odds on winning Love Island couple:

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague – 1/5
Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins – 7/1
Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan – 9/1
Jordan Hames and Anna Vakili – 16/1
Michael Griffiths and Amber Gill – 16/1
Michael Griffiths and Joanna Chimonides – 20/1
Danny Williams and Jourdan Riane – 25/1
Curtis Pritchard and Amy Hart – 40/1
Marvin Brooks and Maura Higgins – 50/1
Ovie Soko and Anna Vakili – 50/1
Tommy Fury and Lucie Donlan – 80/1
