Democrats edge ahead of Trump

July 21st, 2019 Home, Media & Journalism, News & Events, Politics, Press Release

President Donald Trump’s recent racism controversy with his Democratic opponents has seen his odds cut on winning a second term in the White House.

Trump has long been favourite to win again in 2020 when the next election in America will take place, but Bookmakers across the board have reacted with punters believing that POTUS will be beaten.

Trump has clashed with a group of Democratic congresswoman – and he is refusing to back down, and it does seem to be impacting on his chances.

Recent polls in the US have shown that Trump’s approval rating has dropped to -9 – whilst polls also suggest he is trailing in comparison to the leading four Democratic presidential candidates – Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders

OddsMonkey Peter Watton commented: “Donald Trump defied the odds first time around, and he may have to do it again if he wants to win.

“However, we need to remember the Democrats haven’t even chose their candidate yet, and it seems few people – Trump included – will be paying too much attention to the local polls.”
