Spain: FC Barcelona v Juventus - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final: Second Leg

Neymar market shows how odds can dramatically change

Brazilian superstar Neymar could be on his way to Paris Saint Germain and Bookmakers have had to act quickly.

With reports that PSG are to meet the £195million release clause, his odds have now been slashed.

PaddyPower were one of the first to move Neymar to odds-on to move to PSG – making him 10/11 – this was just hours after many firms, including Ladbrokes, were offering 1/5 on him staying at Barca and as long as 3/1 on him just to move to any club.

“This market has moved dramatically in a matter of hours, quicker than Neymar himself,” OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented.

“Neymar looked as cast-iron as anyone to stay and those 1/5 odds only this morning reflected that.

“Now you are lucky to find any firm who is not odds-on.

“It shows how quickly things can change, and it really can pay to keep a close eye on the markets and somebody will have got a very big price, even today – on Neymar leaving.”
