Odds-on for Trump to start building wall in 2019

January 15th, 2019 Home, Media & Journalism, News & Events, Politics, Press Release

Bookmakers are backing Donald Trump to win again, with it odds-on that his border wall begins being built this year.

The United States is currently in turmoil with the federal government in official shutdown as President Trump is refusing to approve the budget unless it includes funds for his Mexican border wall.

Trump wants $5.7billion to build his wall, but the opposition – The Democrats, who are now the leading party in the House of Representatives, are are refusing to give in. Now in stalemate, about a quarter of the federal government is shutdown with around 800,000 workers either working for no pay or sent home on unpaid leave.

The shutdown is nearly a month old, and is already the longest in US history but Trump shows little sign of relenting.

Trump is used to beating the odds, but Bookmakers are not taking him on this time around and it is 4/6 that the wall begins in 2019.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “At the moment, Donald Trump is impossible to back against, what Trump wants he gets.

“Donald Trump is not for turning, and that is why it is odds on that his wall starts this year.”

Selected Donald Trump odds:
Mexico Border wall to start being built in 2019 – 4/6
Presidential reign to end in 2019 – 3/1
US Government Shutdown to last into 2020 50/1
