February 25th, 2019 Home, Media & Journalism, News & Events, Politics, Press Release

Michael Gove has seen his odds slashed on becoming the next leader of the Conservative Party, and he is now favourite to succeed Theresa May as leader and Prime Minister.

The Environment Secretary has stood by Mrs May throughout the Brexit negotiations, and now he is seen as the most likely to succeed her.

Mrs May continues to be under intense pressure as she confirmed a new vote on her Brexit plans would be put to Parliament on March 12th – which is just 17 days before the United Kingdom are due to leave the European Union.

And due to the concerns over Mrs May – Gove, who is a Brexiteer, is now favourite to replace her at Number 10 and take the country out of Europe.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “Michael Gove is now favourite to succeed Theresa May, as Conservative leader and Prime Minister following some substantial bets on him.

“As Mrs May continues to struggle, it seems a delay on Brexit is the most likely option and that is 2/7 and it seems Gove could be the one to enter into further negotiations.

“Overall, it is therefore no surprise that it is 1/4 that the UK won’t be leaving the EU by March 30th.”
