Rugby’s European Cup begins this weekend and if the Bookmakers are to be believed, it is a one horse race with English colossus Saracens the team to beat.
Saracens saw their grip on the English crown loosen last season when Exeter Chiefs surprisingly took the title, but the North London outfit successfully defended their European prize.
They are now in-line for a third successive European title, and on their way to becoming one of the most dominant forces in English and European rugby history.
“Considering how competitive the Champions Cup is, to have a team such as Saracens rated at 2/1 – that just shows how feared they are,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“They are quickly becoming legends of the English game – and the Bookmakers will not be getting caught out, Punters have been latching onto Sarries and the fact they are into 2/1 just shows how much of a sure thing everyone believes them to be – it won’t be long before they are odds-on.
“French giants Toulon and Clermont are next best but you can get 8/1 on both of them – four-times the price of Saracens, that only highlights where the Bookmakers see this market.
“English champions Exeter, you can get 35/1 – safe to say, anyone looking at an English success this season, is only going one way. Saracens play in All-Black and these odds are reminiscent of when the All Blacks play!”
