Alexandra Burke has had a huge impact on Strictly Come Dancing with the competition nearly at its half-way stage.
The popstar, a former X-Factor winner, was amongst the favourites to win the Glitter Ball before the competition started, but she has became a firm fans favourite.
Now Bookmakers have reacted to the recent performances by axing her odds in half, and now making her favourite ahead of JLS star Aston Merrygold, who for the first time since he was confirmed on the show – is not favourite to win.
“Aston has been excellent as everyone thought, but it is Alexandra who has caught the eye of the judges and fans alike, and clearly the Punters too – now 2/1 from 4/1 at the start, she really is the leading light at the moment,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“However, as we know with Strictly, the outsiders are really the ones to watch and it is the two after Alexandra and Aston that really look appealing.
“Former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson has come from being an outsider to third favourite, along with Debbie McGee – both of their odds are coming down and down, and clearly are attracting a lot of attention in the market.”
