But how much you pay for it depends a lot on where you live.<\/p>\n<p>Here at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/\">OddsMonkey<\/a>, we analysed average coffee prices across 71 UK cities to find out where a daily coffee costs the most, and where it costs the least. Here\u2019s what we found.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Findings<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>London is the UK\u2019s most expensive city for coffee<\/strong> at an average of \u00a34.55 a cup. A daily coffee there costs \u00a31,660.75 a year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carlisle is the cheapest<\/strong> at \u00a32.62 a cup, or \u00a3956.30 a year. It\u2019s the only city where a daily coffee costs less than \u00a31,000 a year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The gap between the two is \u00a3704.45 a year<\/strong>, or \u00a358.70 a month.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leicester is the surprise runner-up<\/strong> at \u00a34.37 a cup, ahead of Oxford, Bath and Cambridge.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The UK average is \u00a33.53 a cup<\/strong>, which adds up to \u00a31,288.91 a year for a daily coffee.<\/li>\n<li><strong>England is the most expensive home nation<\/strong>, with a daily coffee costing around \u00a31,298 a year, compared with \u00a31,267 in Scotland, \u00a31,256 in Wales and \u00a31,255 in Northern Ireland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Where in the UK Does a Daily Coffee Cost the Most<\/h2>\n<p>London tops the ranking at \u00a34.55 a cup. Buy one every day and you\u2019ll spend \u00a331.85 a week, \u00a3138.40 a month and \u00a31,660.75 over a year.<\/p>\n<p>Leicester comes second at \u00a34.37 a cup, or \u00a31,595.05 a year. That makes it pricier than several cities with a reputation for high prices, including Bath (\u00a33.80), Oxford (\u00a33.77) and Cambridge (\u00a33.41).<\/p>\n<p>Colchester takes third place at \u00a34.22 a cup, well ahead of its Essex neighbours. A coffee costs \u00a33.62 in Chelmsford and just \u00a33.00 in Southend-on-Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Glasgow is fourth at \u00a34.13, making it the most expensive city outside England. Over a year, a daily coffee there costs \u00a391.25 more than in Edinburgh. A daily coffee there costs \u00a318.34 a week, \u00a379.69 a month and \u00a3956.30 a year, around \u00a3333 less than the UK average.<\/p>\n<p>Dundee is second cheapest at \u00a32.86 a cup (\u00a31,043.90 a year), followed by a three-way tie between Derry\/Londonderry, Salford and Southend-on-Sea, all at \u00a33.00.<\/p>\n<p>Salford stands out because it\u2019s right next door to Manchester, where a coffee costs \u00a33.69. used average prices for a regular cappuccino from Numbeo and Expatistan, the crowdsourced cost-of-living databases, collected in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>To calculate the total costs, we utilised one takeaway coffee price per day. Weekly costs are the price multiplied by 7, annual costs are the price multiplied by 365, and monthly costs are the annual cost divided by 12. The UK and national averages are the mean price across the cities included.<\/p>\n<p>Our study covered 71 UK cities.
