Whilst Prince Harry is unlikely to ever get the call to lead the country, his namesake Harry Kane looks on course to do so.<\/p>\n
The Tottenham striker was in brilliant form again for his country as he scored the only goals in their victories of Slovakia and Lithuania last week which confirmed England’s place at the World Cup finals.<\/p>\n
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate is yet to confirm who will be the permanent replacement for Wayne Rooney – but Bookmakers can’t see it being anyone else but Kane, who was handed the armband for the two victories last week.<\/p>\n
“The Bookmakers believe Gareth Southgate is a creature of habit and they are taking few risks with the market on next permanent England captain and who will lead them at the World Cup finals next summer,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.<\/p>\n
“Barring injury, Kane will be the first name on the team-sheet in Russia and with that also the armband, he is odds-on for that role with anyone who is still listing the market.<\/p>\n
“The only contenders to Kane seem to be Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who you can get around 5\/2 and Chelsea’s Gary Cahill who is 6\/1 – both have had the armband in the last 12-months, so if you don’t think it will be Kane, there is real value – but otherwise you have to go with Kane.”<\/p>\n
