Bookmakers believe that Real Madrid could be about to pull the trigger on Zinedine Zidane.<\/p>\n
Zidane, a legend as both player and coach with the Spanish giants, has guided them to back-to-back European titles – the first team to do so in the Champions League era.<\/p>\n
But Madrid are currently going through one of the worst runs of form in years – which saw them lose to lowly Girona at the weekend before losing 3-1 to Tottenham at Wembley.<\/p>\n
They sit third in La Liga and eight points behind arch-rivals Barcelona, and pressure is mounting.<\/p>\n
“It is probably only because of who he is that he Zinedine Zidane is still in a job, the powers that be at Real Madrid are not known for being patient,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.<\/p>\n
“He is now getting very short to be sacked this season, and is around 6\/4 across the board – at the start of the season it was barely thinkable that he would be in this position.<\/p>\n
“Off the back of this we have the next manager market at Real, and former boss Carlo Ancelotti is favourite but Maurcio Pochettino – the man who oversaw their loss at Wembley is already being backed into second favourite at 11\/2.<\/p>\n
