{"id":2856,"date":"2017-12-11T14:34:37","date_gmt":"2017-12-11T14:34:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/?p=2856"},"modified":"2017-12-15T14:18:28","modified_gmt":"2017-12-15T14:18:28","slug":"blue-moon-rising-city-new-favourites-champions-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/news-events\/blue-moon-rising-city-new-favourites-champions-league\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Moon rising &#8211; City new favourites for Champions League"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester City&#8217;s brilliant form in the Premier League and now favourable draw in the last 16 of the Champions League has seen them become the new favourites to become European champions.<\/p>\n<p>A host of Bookmakers have already shut their books on City winning the Premier League, but now they are clearly of the belief that a Premier League-Champions Leaugue double is on the cards.<\/p>\n<p>City have been handed a clash with Basel, whilst former favourites Paris Saint Germain will have to overcome holders Real Madrid, and it is these two draws that have lead to a major change in the odds.<\/p>\n<p>City are now around 3\/1 favourites &#8211; the first time that they have ever headed the market for Europe&#8217;s top prize &#8211; the biggest club competition in the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This market has seen a remarkable turnaround, City began the year at 12\/1 &#8211; they were not even fancied as the best English side, but now they have come all the way into 3\/1 off the back of some major support from the public,&#8221; revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;PSG have dropped to around 5\/1 and are even behind Bayern Munich in most places, who are 4\/1 and have also come in after being drawn against Besiktas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After City, and Man United are steady at around 14\/1 after drawing Sevilla &#8211; but interestingly Liverpool have seen their odds cut after landing Porto.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But the the other two English sides, Tottenham and Chelsea have drifted somewhat &#8211; after they were handed what look like very difficult draws, in the shape of Juventus and Barcelona.
