Tiger Woods has roared back into golfing contention in 2018, and despite little success in recent years is regarded as one of the favourites for The Masters, and he would easily be the worse result for Bookmakers across the board.<\/p>\n
Woods has put years of injury woes behind him with a number top-ten finishes, which have seen him on the brink of breaking back into the top-100.<\/p>\n
The 42-year-old is now flirting with favouritism for the event, as the public get behind the 14-time Major winner.<\/p>\n
“Across the board, Bookmakers have confirmed that Tiger Woods is by far their worst result – but you can still get around 14\/1 on him,” explained OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.<\/p>\n
“But Woods is not the only one, Phil Mickelson has also seen big support and a win for him, whilst not as bad as a Woods success – would cost them dear.<\/p>\n
“As it stands Jordan Spieth is just about favourite, but Rory McIlroy is getting backed in and we expect that he could begin Thursday as out-right favourite, closely followed by Justin Thomas and world number one Dustin Johnson.<\/p>\n
“Johnson is an interesting one in our eyes, he was a very short price favourite last year before injury ruled him out on the eve of the tournament, but he is still world number one and in good form, he could very well be the value here.<\/p>\n
“Elsewhere, England’s Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter – who only got into the Masters after winning the Houston Open last week, has also been backed in to 40\/1 in paces having been 66\/1.<\/p>\n
“Last year’s winner Sergio Garcia is another not been talked about much, but he is available at 22\/1 and he along with the man he beat in a play-off Justin Rose – must surely be worthy of a close look too.”<\/p>\n
