For the first time in many years, the number one pick in this year’s NFL Draft looks wide-open, but one thing is sure – it will be a quarterback.<\/p>\n

The Draft is one of American Football’s big nights, when teams get to pick the best players coming out of college – some of home can become household names overnight.<\/p>\n

For the second year in succession, the Cleveland Browns – who had the worst record in the league last season – have the first overall pick.<\/p>\n

And Cleveland are widely expected to take a quarterback – although they could trade that pick to another team, but even then that would probably be to another team requiring a quarterback.<\/p>\n

“Such is Draft week, everyone is talking about different names, but with this pick there a number of differing reports about who Cleveland are going to take – but Bookmakers are certain it is going to be USC star Sam Darnold,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.<\/p>\n

“Darnold has been odds-on for a number of weeks now from when the books first opened in Vegas, and it would be a shock if he is not the first name called out but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.<\/p>\n

“Generally Darnold is 1\/3 ahead of Wyoming’s Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma – who are both hovering around 3\/1.<\/p>\n

“A non-quarterback is highly unlikely but if you do think it might be, there is only two candidates – Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and Bradley Chubn, the defensive end from North Carolina State, but despite being the two best non-quarterbacks in the draft they are big odds at 12\/1 and 50\/1 respectively.”<\/p>\n
