{"id":4182,"date":"2018-06-29T17:01:21","date_gmt":"2018-06-29T16:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/?p=4182"},"modified":"2018-06-29T17:03:03","modified_gmt":"2018-06-29T16:03:03","slug":"wimbledon-favourites-to-dominate-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/news-events\/press-release\/wimbledon-favourites-to-dominate-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Wimbledon &#8211; favourites to dominate again?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What do you think of when you think of Wimbledon? the Sun? the rain? the Pimms or maybe the strawberries &#8211; well you should be thinking of favourites.<\/p>\n<p>OddsMonkey has looked back at Wimbledon winners since the turn of the century, and on both sides of the draws &#8211; one thing is clear, the favourites like the grass.of<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s have not seen a big price outsider win since 2001 when giant Croatian Goran Ivanisevic won it as a wild-card and rated at 250\/1.<\/p>\n<p>Since the domination of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray has kicked in &#8211; with one of those four winning the last 15 titles.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4207\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Wimbledon-faves-2018-922x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"922\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Wimbledon-faves-2018-922x1024.png 922w, https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Wimbledon-faves-2018-270x300.png 270w, https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Wimbledon-faves-2018-768x853.png 768w, https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Wimbledon-faves-2018.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 922px) 100vw, 922px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And looking at the women&#8217;s draw, things have not been too different with the Williams sisters Venus and Serena enjoying something of a domination with 11 wins.<\/p>\n<p>Petra Kvitova and Amelie Mauresmo have also won but neither was seen as an outsider.
