OddsMonkey has looked back to check on just how romantic the ITV super show is.

Love Island has been going since 2015, and numerous couples are formed over the duration of every show – with the initial goal of being to win the show and the cash prize.

But aside from the money, the target is for love to flourish…

But what about love? Does Love Island actually produce results – the answer is yes, and the record is probably more impressive than most people think.

So far we have seen six winnings couples…but are any of them still together?

Here is how Love Island’s current couples stand…

As series 6 begins, the current record stands at six couples still going strong, and of those three are married.

Looks back to the first series in 2015, and we don’t have any couples still together – but the second series in 2016 has emerged as the most successful thus far.

There are not just two couples still together, but two married couples in the shape of winners Nathan Massey & Cara De La Hoyde and Alex Bowen & Olivia Buckland.

2017 was another fine year for the show in the love stakes with two couples still together, one of which is married. Jessica Shears and Dom Lever married in 2018 and they may well soon be joined by another, with Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt

2018 no longer has any couples, although winners Kem Cetinay & Amber Davies were together for a quite a while before splitting – as were Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood.

And then onto last year, and we still have two couples going strong – including the winners Molly Mae Hughes and Tommy Fury, which does buck the trend as the only other winners still together are Nathan and Cara. The other pair still seeing each other are Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard, who are looking to be going from strength to strength.

But what will the first Winter Love Island offer?
