{"id":47,"date":"2020-02-06T16:35:38","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T16:35:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/om2.philclerkin.com\/?p=47"},"modified":"2020-02-07T10:03:57","modified_gmt":"2020-02-07T10:03:57","slug":"can-you-really-win-with-love-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/home\/can-you-really-win-with-love-island\/","title":{"rendered":"Can you really win with Love Island?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The first ever version of Winter Love Island is due to hit the screens and thousands of hopefuls applied, and looking back at previous contestants it is easy to see why they do\u2026and it isn\u2019t just for love!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OddMonkey has looked back over every series, seeing who the most popular, most successful and who \u2013 if any! \u2013 are still together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instagram is where a lot of the Love Islanders are initially found, already with a fan base \u2013 many can already earn a good living from posting on the network, and looking back at the top contestants from every series it easy to see why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molly Mae Hughes is the leading contestant ever take part with 3.5 million followers, meaning \u2013 using the latest Instagram marketing fee, should would bag \u00a315,000 for just one post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molly Mae was a social media influencer before going in and now her career has rocketed since being on the Island \u2013 emerging as the number one Love Islander of all time, just ahead of Dani Dyer \u2013 who won the show in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The leading male is actually Molly Mae\u2019s other half Tommy Fury \u2013 who saw his following boom to just under 3 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at the top-ten, and winning does help but it is far from essential \u2013 with four previous winners in the top-ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Top-20-Love-island-all-time-1024x747.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And it is easy to see why the majority of the leading contestants have been emerging from more recent shows, that is because Love Island has been getting more and more popular with every series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The viewing figures for 2019 were amazing at over 5 million per episode, ten times that of series 1 which averaged just half a million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exposure that can now come from the show, explains why someones Instagram followers get such a boost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Love-Island_Viewing-figures-2019-922x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So what about the class of 2019? Well there are no huge stars going in \u2013 the two biggest names are Paige Turley and Sophie Piper, both of whom are already known to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turley is a former girlfriend of popstar Lewis Capaldi and also appeared on Britain\u2019s Got Talent in 2012, whilst Piper is the sister of former Saturday\u2019s singer Rochelle Humes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oddsmonkey.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Love-Island-2019-winter_starting-insta-1.2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: \u201cThe success of Love Island is just amazing, year on year we can see just how huge it is getting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe contestants are becoming celebrities in their own right, and just looking at the top-ten overall \u2013 four of them have come from this year\u2019s show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd of course being popular can mean huge rewards.
