Tiger Roll claimed his place in Horse Racing history as he become the first horse this century to defend his Grand National crown.<\/p>\n

The nine-year-old Irish-born star romped to victory at Aintree, coming in at 4\/1 – which made him one of the shortest priced winners of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Now Bookmakers are already taking bets on him winning a third successive crown and it is currently 8\/1 on him landing his third crown.<\/p>\n

There have been five previous back-to-back winners, and some came close to winning it three times in succession.<\/p>\n

The Duke came third in 1838, Abd-El-Kader was Pulled Up in 1852, The Colonel came fourth in 1871., Reynoldstown did not run in 1937 – but the closest of them all was Red Rum – who came second in 1975 and again in 1976 before his third win in 1977.<\/p>\n

Now Tiger Roll has the chance to make it three-in-a-row in 2020…<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “Bookmakers believe that industry wide, Tiger Roll cost them \u00a3250million – so safe to say they are not taking him on to win a third and that shows with his 8\/1 odds.<\/p>\n

“If he stays fit and gets to Aintree in 2020, then he will comfortably be the shortest price favourite in history – that is currently Golden Miller who went off at 2\/1 in 1935 but was unable to win.<\/p>\n

“This could also be the start to a very good week for Tigers – Bookmakers offered the Tiger Roll-Tiger Woods double at 80\/1. Tiger Roll has done his part in the National, and it now remains to be sees if Woods can do it at Augusta next week.”<\/p>\n
