For example, we back our horse \u00a310 each way, with odds of 8\/1 (9.0), and place terms of 1\/5th 1-2-3, which means if it finishes in the top 3 we\u2019ll get odds of 11\/5 or 2.60 in decimal.<\/p>\n

Now on the exchange we can lay \u00a39.47 on the win at 9.5 and \u00a311.82 on the place at 2.2.<\/p>\n

As our place lay odds are lower than the bookmaker\u2019s place odds, we can make a profit from this whatever the outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
