It\u2019s a betting strategy where you place a bet on a horse to win and a second bet on the same horse to \u2018place\u2019. The numbers in red are a warning. This automatically places 2x stakes: one on the selection to win and the second on it to \u2018place\u2019. By default it\u2019ll open with the stake available at the exchange, so you\u2019d need to change your back stake to the required amount then click\u00a0<em>recalculate<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The top selection here opens with a \u00a325 total back stake which has been changed to \u00a35.00 total. This means a \u00a32.50 each way bet. Once you\u2019ve confirmed it matches, place the back bet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Lay the\u00a0<em>win<\/em>\u00a0part of the bet. In this example, Each Way Matcher advises a lay bet of \u00a32.24 @ 38.\u00a0 Once in the bet slip you can check that the liability matches that from the calculator.
