This blog post has been put together to explain a bit more about how OddsMonkey uses emails to contact you. We’ll also look at what’s covered in the emails and how to unsubscribe, should you wish to.

The emails we send fall into two distinct categories: Marketing and Customer Services. The main difference between these two types of email is their purpose. Marketing emails are used to bring you news about OddsMonkey that we think you’ll be interested in whereas Customer Service emails allow us to send you essential information relating to your account. We’ll look at this in more detail shortly.

Whether you start a free trial, or become a Premium member, you will have the chance to opt in to receiving certain emails from us. On OddsMonkey, this is done on the sign up page. You’ll be asked to tick an unticked box in order to opt in. Under GDPR laws, we need your active consent to send marketing emails.

What is GDPR?

In May 2018, new privacy laws were brought in for businesses operating within the EU. After Brexit, the UK updated its legislation to reflect that it is no longer governed by EU law. However, there are very few differences between EU GDPR and UK GDPR. You can find more information here.

General Data Protection Legislation (GDPR) governs the way personal data is used, processed, and stored.

The following emails fall under the marketing category:

OddsMonkey Premium members can set alerts to notify them of odds changes on the OddsMatcher tool. This feature can save you time when it comes to finding the best odds for matched betting. Alerts can be set, altered, or removed whenever you want.

How to unsubscribe from emails

OddsMatcher alerts can be turned on or off at any time by visiting your OddsMatcher tool settings.

You can unsubscribe from anything that falls into the ‘Marketing’ category by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email you’ve received from us. This will take you to a page where you can update your preferences. ‘Enable’ or ‘Disable’ emails which bring you the Latest News and Special Offers’ or ‘Daily Offers’.

However, you can’t unsubscribe from Customer Service emails like this. As mentioned above, Customer Service emails are a vital part of your OddsMonkey membership. Therefore, if you would no longer like to receive these emails from us, you would need to contact us at [email protected] and we can delete your account.
