Who will be Watford’s next manager?

With only 2 games left to play on the Premier League Watford sacked Nigel Pearson it is rumoured after a frank conversation with owner Gino Pozzo.

Pearson has only been at the club 8 months replacing Sanchez Flores in December 2019. In that time there have been some highlights including beating the current Premier League Champions, Liverpool.
The lacklustre Watford performance against West Ham and the fact that Watford are currently only 3 points clear of the relegation zone with 34 points was enough for Watford to give Pearson the sack. Some think that have been clear missed opportunities to build up points and cement safety.

So just who will be the 12th Watord Manager in just 8 years?

Claude Puel

Currently Manager at Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne in France the ex-Leicester boss is the frontrunner to succeed Nigel Pearson, having previously been dismissed from Southampton too and a lowly win rate of 34% the Pozzo’s may just see something in Puel beyond his previous record and stats.

His performance as manager in France has been better however taking Saint-Étienne to their first Coupe de France final in 38 years and having previously won Ligue1 with Monaco too.

Will Puel be willing to come back to the UK for Watford?

Sam Allardyce

Could the next Watford manager be the infamous BIG SAM?

Showing interest in the role when Sanchez Flores was close to being sacked back in December 2019 , Allardyce said he was ‘open to talks’ for the Watford job.

Could that be the case this time too?

If he does get the job and Watford manage to stay up that would make it Big Sam’s 8th managerial role at a premier league club!
