English clubs looking to dominate Champions League

English clubs are looking to continue making history in the Champions League this week.

For the first time in history, five clubs from the same nation have made it through to the knockout stages, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea all looking to progress to the quarter-finals.

Should all five Premier League clubs make it through then, again that will be a first – and the Bookmakers feel their is a real chance of this happening.

“It is already a first to have five teams through to the last 16 from one country, and there is a chance that all five can make the last 8 – which would be a brilliant performance and the chances of that happening are as short as 9/2 and we are told there has been quite a bit of support for this,” OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton said.

“The chances of four teams making it through is just 6/4, and that is something we have seen before in 2008 and 2009 – when Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd all made it through.

“However, from what we are seeing, the most interesting market is for an all English final, the odds on this are now down to 5/1.”
