Widdicombe on course to make reality history

Anne Widdicombe is on course to create reality TV history, if Bookmakers are to be believed.

When the 2018 line-up was confirmed for Celebrity Big Brother, nobody gave the former MP a hope of winning the show – and as a result she was listed at 100/1.

Now her odds have come in massively to just 13/8, and she is favourite for the first time and nobody has ever won a reality show have been a 100/1 outsider.

“This always looked a difficult market, but with the show ending at the start of February – Anne Widdicombe looks well on course for victory at this point,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Pete Watton.

“Bookmakers are seeing a lot of money from the public and have been reacting over recent weeks, but for her to take over from Courtney Act at the head of the market was almost unthinkable just a couple of weeks ago.

“Now if Anne carries on being so popular in the house, she will soon be odds on as the Bookmakers see this as a four-horse race.

“Along with Anne, Courtney, Shane Lynch and Amanda Barrie are the only contenders in single figures and the rest are not in contention.”
