Bookmakers not so sweet on Honey

Emma Barton, who plays Eastenders’ Honey Mitchell, could be heading for a tragic ending in Strictly Come Dancing according to Bookmakers – whose odds have drifted massively.

Barton had been one of the leading lights in Strictly with partner Anton Du Beke, but she took a hammering for her Rumba and she is now into third favourite to go this weekend ahead of the famous trip to Blackpool next week.

But Bookmakers have reacted to her marks, and they have not been overly impressive and only Mike Bushell – odds-on favourite to go – and Chris Ramsey have averaged less during this year’s series.

Now after a bad week, Bookmakers have moved Barton out to 16/1 to win, having been pushing favourites Kelvin Fletcher and Karim Zeroual just a few weeks ago.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton: “Emma took a real bashing off the judges last week and the Bookmakers have reacted moving her out to 16/1 behind Alex Scott and Michelle Visage in terms of top-female.

“We had been look at her as a dark horse for the win, but now the odds suggest she might even be lucky to make it to Blackpool next week – but we do wonder if this is harsh and think that Emma could not be presenting some real value in the market and could again be the one to watch.”
