VAR is hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but will the Premier League stick with it?
VAR has now been used in 100 Premier League matches, but the results have been mixed to say the least.
From the 100 games a decision has been changed by VAR in every fourth game, but recent weekends have seen some hugely controversial decision.
Managers, players and fans alike have questioned the use of VAR and now Bookmakers believe that there is a chance that the Football Association could pull the plug on VAR being used in England all together.
It is now just 9/2 odds that VAR will be ditched by the Premier League next season.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “VAR is hogging the headlines ahead of the football at the minute, and for all the wrong reasons.
“The Premier League look committed to it at the moment, but if we have anymore weekends like we have just had then pressure could mount.
“Goal-line technology has been a huge success and is now integral to the top-flight, but as it stands it is hard to see VAR becoming as entrenched in the English game.”
Selected odds:
Premier League not to use VAR next season – 9/2
