Dec odds-on to continue alone

Bookmakers believe that Declan Donnelly is no rush to try and replace his on-screen partner Ant McPartlin.

The much loved presenters – known as Ant and Dec – are the biggest stars on British TV – but McPartlin’s has been dogged by off-screen issues – including an addiction to prescription drugs, which came after a serious knee problem.

He returned to screens earlier this year for the latest series of Saturday Night Takeaway – but then he was forced to miss the final few weeks after he was charged with drink driving.

Now McPartlin is again taking time away from presenting duties as he continues his rehabilitation, leaving Donnelly to oversee things on his own – despite a huge workload, with Britain’s Got Talent currently airing and then that is followed by I’m A Celebrity Get Me Outta Here in November.

“Fans remain hopeful that duo will be back together, but Bookmakers do not see that Ant will be back along his side in Australia for I’m A Celebrity and it is 5/6 that Dec is in the Jungle by himself,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.

“There are others who are being strongly linked – with former Jungle stars Scarlett Moffatt, Joel Dommett and Joe Swash all listed in the market – but fans don’t seem to believe anyone is likely to replace Ant.

“But if you do think that Ant and Dec might not be back, you can get 33/1 that they will be axed by ITV.”
