Holby City star, Joe McFadden has become the latest favourite for Strictly Come Dancing as Bookmakers have again changed their mind.
Since the start of the competition, there have been four different favourites for the Glitter Ball trophy. Aston Merrygold began as early favourite before his shock departure, and he was followed by Alexandra Burke and then Debbie McGee, but now it is McFadden coming almost from nowhere to take favouritism.
“This is a dramatic change in the market. Joe was as long as 20/1 just a couple of weeks ago – but now, he is as short as 9/4, a remarkable turnaround – although that is still on a 30% probability of winning, so not a certainty by any stretch,” said OddsMonkey spokesman, Peter Watton.
“With Joe becoming favourite, taking over from Debbie McGee we have seen some of the odds on the other contenders come out, and the 10/3 on offer for Alexandra Burke would of been unthinkable just weeks ago.
“But for us, the 6/1 on Gemma Atkinson – who was brilliant in Blackpool – is a huge price, she has not been in the bottom two yet, which suggests she has some real public support, and she looks great value.”
Strictly Come Dancing Winner odds:
